Vaga-Bonding with Ma Girls!
There are few better ways to spend your evening than with your favourite girlfriends and wine.
In my lovely group of 12, we're all super busy now (some would even call us adults!), so it's hard choosing a date where we can all attend but in true girlfriend spirit, we cleared out our diaries and made tonight a priority and despite it being an extremely chilly evening, 9 out of 12 of us rocked up to our venue for the night, Vagabond Wines on Charlotte Street.
Hurrying inside from the freezing cold, we were welcomed into the warmth of every wine lover's dream.
At Vagabond you can try more than 100 wines on tap - yes, 100! Just top up your "wine Oyster card" and whizz around reading the descriptions above each bottle then pop in your card, select your choice and you're away!
Even though I'm by no means a wine connoisseur (I can barely tell my white from my rose sometimes), being in a place like this sure made me feel like one as I made my way around sampling the sweet aromas of each wine, whilst helpfully prompted by witty signs (as if I needed any reminding how great wine is!).
Done with sampling, we settled on a few bottles for the table and got down to business - there was so much to catch up on!
Is it just me or are your closest friends those you made at secondary school? Since graduating from university where I was surrounded by so many friends but had few who knew me well, I've found that I've reverted back to comfort of the friends who embraced me when I wasn't so cool with my braceface and thick-rimmed glasses!
My secondary school friends, of whom I've know for more than 10 years now, really know me best. After all, my secondary school years were those where I was really growing into my own and these were the girls who were were beside me, every step of the way.
With wine and conversation flowing, we updated each other on everything from careers and holidays in the pipeline to cheesy Valentine's plans, giggling all the way into the night.
It's amazing how despite the time we spend apart, we are like peas in a cosy pod when we all get back together and I absolutely love hearing how everyone's life is flourishing - I am so proud of everything these beautiful girls have achieved in life and am excited to see what more they will accomplish!
My special 12 are everything I could ask for - I know I can always turn to them for advice and I know I have their support and encouragement in all my knicker-selling endeavours. I don't know where I'd be without them and I can't wait for the next catch up.
Here's to a lifetime of friendship!
